Which massage should I choose?

We have selected a number of the best-known and respected massage therapies along with carefully chosen lesser-known but equally effective treatments. The selection offers a combination of ancient Eastern methods and advance Western technique.

All of our therapies aim to treat the whole person, centering on restoring balance to your physical, mental and emotional well-being. Our practitioners have been selected from the best in their field, with accredited training that enables them to offer treatment at a deeper more intuitive level.

Thai Yoga Massage

Traditional Thai Yoga massage employs slow firm movements and acupressure, using passive stretches, joint mobilization and gentle pressure of the energy lines (acupressure), thereby improving flexibility and alleviating muscle tension. 2.5 hours massage is needed for maximum benefit.

Twice as Nice Prakop Massage

Steaming Thai herbs, tightly wrapped in cloth, gently applied along the energy lines of the body in combination with Thai massage techniques relieve aches and re-energize the muscles. This unique ancient Thai healing massage is aromatic, nurturing and is especially recommended for stiffness and joint pain. In 2004 Tamarind Springs was singled out of the 100 best spas in Asia for ‘best signature treatment’ by the Ultimate spa guide for our ‘Twice as nice’ prakop treatment.

Over the Top Massage (Back- Shoulder-Neck)

Focusing on the upper body, this massage is designed to relieve stress of the back, shoulders and neck. It is in particular suited for people who suffer from soreness and tension of the shoulder and neck region (and those who spend many hours in front of their computers).

Classic Oil Massage

This classic form of oil massage evokes feelings of tranquility and well-being. It is designed to relax the whole body. Using a combination of rhythmic strokes, movements of friction and percussion, gliding and kneading, this invigorating oil massage helps to release muscle and joint tension. Please select massage oil of your choice, and inform our receptionist about your massage preferences: light, medium, or deep pressure.

Foot Reflexology Massage (Fuzo)

Tamarind Springs’ Foot Reflexology Massage is based on the Ingham method, a European massage technique. The overall massage effect is one of muscle, reparatory, endorphins, digestion and all the organ system. There may be moments when you feel pressure on the reflexology points, however no sticks or instruments are used as is common in Chinese foot reflexology massage.

Head Massage

It is difficult to stay awake through this one! Tamarind Springs’ head massage focuses on the head, but includes neck and upper back areas. A variety of massage movements are used to relieve accumulated tension. It also has a rejuvenating effect and aids the condition and health of the hair, in particular when combined with warm coconut oil.

Facial Treatment

This facial massage treatment uses world re-known “Dr. Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage” (MLD) technique, using gentle, rhythmic skin stretch movement in the direction of the lymph flow, in order to remove excessive fluids. In the health and beauty sector, MLD is now widely recognized and known as a “natural face lift” and natural anti-aging treatment. It is also very effective for strengthening and regenerating the cells. Cleaner, scrub, toner, mask, and moisturizer are applied as part of this therapy. For maximum benefit 2 or more treatments are recommended.

A LaStone Treatment

During the LaStone treatment, the therapist places hot and cold stones on different parts of the body. Alternating between heat and cold stimulates and relaxes the circulatory system. At the same time the therapist applies long, firm and smooth massage strokes of Swedish massage techniques to open the energy channels (chakras).

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

This therapeutic massage treatment is based on the original MLD technique, as developed in the 1932's by Dr. Emil Vodder. It is a manual method of stimulating the movement of lymph fluid in the tissues of the body, by applying gentle, rhythmic skin stretch movements in the direction of the lymph flow. As such it completely differs from other forms of massage. It is a powerful treatment that is beneficial in many ways: Strengthening of the entire immune system (discomforts such as swelling, cramping and tension virtually disappear), ideal as an accompanying therapy for pregnancies, detox programs, pre and post surgery, just to name a few. For maximum benefits 2 or more treatments are recommended.
